Swiss Chard or Spinach & Rice Torte

Ingredients
  1. 1 bunch Swiss chard or 1 package frozen spinach
  2. 1 onion, chopped
  3. 1 cup raw rice
  4. 1 stick butter
  5. 2 eggs
  6. 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  7. 8 oz cream cheese
  8. salt & pepper to taste
  9. 2 packages crescent rolls
Instructions
  1. Cook rice al dente.
  2. Preheat oven to 350*.
  3. Melt butter, saute onion in butter in saucepan.
  4. Chop chard/spinach and then steam.
  5. Mix all ingredients well.
  6. Roll crescent dough to seam.
  7. Line a 9” x 13” pan with dough and make sure dough comes up the sides of the pan.
  8. Fill the dough with the chard/rice mixture and fold flaps of dough over filling.
  9. Bake 35 - 45 minutes.
  10. Serve warm or cool.
